Ski outwear comes in all shapes and sizes, picking out the right outfit for you can often seem daunting when faced with a wall full of garments and a website full of acronyms and jargon. To get you started we have picked out a few of our favourite sets from this season's offerings.

Building on last year, we have seen a continuation in the development of women’s performance lines, with many new models being released alongside their male equivalent products. Where women’s style products were previously echelons ahead the male products are catching up, taking many influences from streetwear, but women’s garments are still leading the charge.

Roxy has come out trumps with this fantastic value outfit. Harking back to Roxy’s surf and snowboard origins, this pairing suits those looking for a more relaxed fit in their skiwear. Although this is at the lower end of the price range on offer at Snow+Rock, the feature list is jam-packed.

The Jet Ski Jacket features 10K DryFlight waterproofing to keep you dry on the slopes, there is also ample insulation to keep you warm when the mercury sinks. The hood is removable and the faux fur hood cuff can be attached or removed at will allowing you to really mix up your style. Available in a midnight blue this jacket houses all of the usual features, like wrist gaiters, snow skirt and padded goggle pockets, for £10 more there is also a gradient colourway available.

For the bottoms, the Backyard pants have a tapered but not skin-tight fit, with plenty of insulation and ventilation to maintain a comfortable body temperature all season. Available in two colours these pants cost a little over a hundred pounds, meaning that this is one of the few ensembles in Snow+Rock’s range costing under £300.

The Roxy Jet Stream Jacket and Backyard Pants are available in Snow+Rock stores and online, retailing at £170 and £115 respectively, the whole outfit costing £285.

Snow+Rock’s clothing department staff unanimously agreed that Poivre Blanc has been the most popular brand in women’s snow-wear for several seasons, and they don’t see that changing any time soon. The French brand offers a variety of jackets and pants with an instantly identifiable style.

The Riva jacket has once again taken the top spot as the most popular jacket in the range. The fit is flattering thanks to the on-trend waist belt and the diamond quilted stretch fabric, a hit on the slopes and in resort alike. Ample waterproofing and insulation will keep you warm and dry while there are pockets a-plenty for your daily essentials, the hood and faux fur cuff are removable, allowing you to mix up your look throughout your trip. The jacket is available in six (yes six!) different colours, maximising your options and also hopefully reducing the chances of bumping into any copy cats at après.

To match, Poivre Blanc has several trouser options, the fitted Stretch pants at £200 is a solid option, but we prefer the Softshell pants for the same price. The latter of these is constructed with 4-way stretch materials and contains more densely packed insulation, yielding a warmer more articulated set of salopettes. For ultimate warmth however, the Lisa Stretch Bib pants at £240 are a level above. Poivre Blanc is a great option for those that often struggle with finding the right fit, their trousers come in several lengths and waist heights, beware though, Poivre Blanc usually sizes up very small, so head down to a store to try them on if possible.

The Poivre Blanc Riva Jacket and Softshell Pants are available in Snow+Rock stores and online, retailing at £360 and £210 respectively, the whole outfit costing £570.

The Goldbergh range of skiwear is an eclectic one, the company started in 2009 as a ski brand for fashion-conscious women. Owing to the brand’s growing popularity this brand has been included as one of our highlights, increasing numbers of skiers are choosing Goldbergh’s unique style to stand out from the crowds on the slopes. However, we see the true natural habitat for these outfits as the après hotspots around the Alps, equally at home dancing on tables as they are on the pistes.

The ensemble that is tipped to be a hot one for the coming season by the Snow+Rock sales staff is the Almeta Jacket and Roar Pants. The jacket uses exceptionally reliable PrimaLoft insulation with real down in the hood for when it gets chilly. Elastic detailing on the shoulders and glittered Goldbergh logos add an extra level of bling to proceedings. The Roar Pants, as their name suggests, are not subtle. The leopard print pattern is a head turner! A great fit is complimented by some exceptionally useful features, including handy zips from the ankles up the calf to ensure your ski boots are covered, and the pants even come with two different belts, one gold and one black.

If the Roar Pants still seem a little subdued, try out the brand’s Cougar one-piece for £649, it won’t disappoint!

The Goldbergh Almeta Jacket and Roar Pants are available in Snow+Rock stores and online, retailing at £449 and £359 respectively, the whole outfit costing £808.

Kjus is known for the uncompromising performance of their skiwear and unsurprisingly, the Laina Jacket and Madrisa pant deliver cutting edge design by the bucket load. As with the brand’s range of industry-leading menswear, the garments are all created to be used by performance skiers. 4-way stretch and active smart insulation and ventilation systems allow for easy movement and ensure that you retain body heat when you are settled and release excess thermal energy when active.

The Laina Jacket echoes the Kjus racing pedigree, low drag with bold colours, inspired by  the race suits of old. The Madrisa pant offers the same sporty close fit that will keep drag down on the slopes. Insulation throughout the jacket and pant is top drawer, with every layer of the garment able to stretch 4 ways in unison. The jacket and pants coordinate well to give a well-rounded, race-inspired look.

The Kjus Laina Jacket and Madrisa Pants are available in Snow+Rock stores and online, retailing at £500 and £349 respectively, the whole outfit costing £849.

The Bogner Sanne Down Jacket is undoubtedly a luxury item, but with the hefty price tag, comes incredible performance. The goose down jacket is undeniably warm and the inclusion of a removable inner jacket gives layering flexibility not found in other jackets of this type. The fitted quilted look is right on trend and the waterproofing and insulation performance is second to none, with all of the features you would expect for a garment of this price. Subtle branding finishes the jacket off in style to give an understated but classy look.

Snow+Rock is the exclusive UK retailer for Toni Sailer, and the brand’s new Anais salopettes are once again set to fly off the rails. The high performance fitted pants have a high back to keep the snow out with a fleece lining giving a cosy warm feel next to your skin. With pre-shaped knees, and stretch material these ski bottoms will be comfortable from dusk to dawn. Available in white and black to suit most outfits.

The Bogner Sanne Down Jacket and Toni Sailer Anais Pants are available in Snow+Rock stores and online, retailing at £1235 and £580 respectively, the whole outfit costing £1815.

Unfortunately, not every day in the mountains is basked in sunshine, the temperature in some resorts can plummet, especially in North America and Scandinavia, where J.Lindeberg is from. The popular Swedish sportswear brand has produced their ski line to cope with their local conditions, so if you suffer from the cold this setup could be for you.

The double-layered jacket is certainly built for warmth with FP700 down filling amplifying your own body heat, while the TX shell fabric blocks out chilly wind and precipitation. The Sanford Pants also have a two-layer construction made up of a waterproof and windproof membrane, but this time using a Primaloft insulation layer to give the required warmth whilst maintaining a low volume fit. With a high back and adjustable waistband, the trousers have a fitted form, with articulated knees to allow uninhibited movement on the slopes. Together the jacket and pant have a classic clean look that oozes simple Scandinavian cool with block colours and an attractive orange accent.
